Mentorship Meeting and Retreat Etiquette Policy
Virtual meetings and retreats are a space for learning, growth, and mutual respect. We encourage all participants to treat others as they would like to be treated—with kindness, patience, and non-judging understanding. If providing feedback, ensure it is constructive, supportive, and offered in a way that fosters learning and confidence. Everyone is deserving of the opportunity to learn and feel safe in this community.
Participants are expected to maintain professionalism during all virtual meetings and retreats, including respectful communication and appropriate boundaries. Be mindful of the diversity of lived experiences, lifestyles, identities, choices, and expertise within the group. Approach all interactions with humility and an open mind.
During virtual mentorship meetings and retreats, participants are expected to provide their full attention, keep their video on, and refrain from using the chat feature. Participants may mute and unmute themselves as necessary to engage in discussions.
Participants must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information shared during mentorship meetings, coursework, and discussions about clients or fellow participants. When discussing clients, ensure their anonymity by changing their name or referring to them by their sex and age only (e.g., “female, 35 years old”). Do not share any identifiable information about clients or students.
Participants are expected to respect the confidentiality and trust of their peers by refraining from bringing up or discussing anything personal a fellow participant may have shared during a retreat or mentorship meeting at a later time, whether within or outside the program. This guideline is in place to foster a safe and supportive learning environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, experiences, and vulnerabilities without fear of judgment or exposure.
