Here’s What Our Students Are Saying

“Thank you very much for the training, it was very educational, and the practices are practical and easy to modify to curtail to the individual. Thank you!”

“When someone first told me about the benefits of mindfulness or meditation, all my insides went, ‘I’m not into that woo-woo stuff. I can’t sit still—what are you talking about?’ Now I’m the one guiding clients into these practices—and seeing real results. I remind myself that I once felt the same resistance my clients feel. But learning how to offer these tools gently, in a way that’s accessible and not intimidating, changed everything.”

“Excellent training and I wish I knew this  information earlier… I’m an LCSW and I never knew that the counts mattered in deep breathing, and that different counts have different effects on different people!”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 200-hour yoga teacher training?

A 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT-200) is the foundational certification required to teach yoga professionally. It’s recognized worldwide as the industry standard. But here’s the thing—most 200-hour trainings don’t prepare you for working with individuals in therapeutic or clinical settings. That’s why we created ClinicAlly Trained: to give you everything a YTT-200 offers, plus the skills to teach private, trauma-informed yoga sessions without needing extra training.

Will I be a certified yoga teacher after completing this training?

Yes! Upon completion, you’ll receive a RYT-200 certification (which means you can register with Yoga Alliance) and a ClinicAlly Trained™ certification, specializing in private, trauma-informed yoga instruction.

Can I take this training even if I don’t plan on teaching yoga?

Yes, absolutely! Many people take yoga teacher training programs for reasons other than becoming a yoga teacher. Here’s why you might consider it, even if you don’t plan to teach:

  • Self-Discovery and Personal Growth: This training encourages self-reflection and personal development. It can be a transformative experience, helping you connect with yourself on a deeper level.
  • Increased Knowledge of Yourself: You’ll learn about yoga anatomy, neurophysiology, and the history and philosophy of yoga. This knowledge can enhance your understanding of your body and mind, leading to a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
  • Community and Connection: Yoga teacher training creates a strong sense of community. You’ll connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for yoga.
  • Stress Reduction and Mindfulness: With its therapeutic approach, this training will equip you with tools and techniques for managing stress and supporting wellness, which can be beneficial in all areas of your life.
  • Enhanced Understanding of Yoga Philosophy: Many find the philosophical aspects of yoga to be extremely helpful in navigating life’s challenges.

Our 200 hour yoga teacher training can be a valuable investment in your personal growth, even if teaching is not your goal.

What will I learn in this course?

You’ll get a full foundational yoga education, plus an immersive dive into trauma-informed care and nervous system regulation. We cover postures, breathwork, meditation, physiology, neuroscience concepts, philosophy, client-centered care, addressing therapist burnout, ethics, and more. Other key topics include:

  • How to integrate yoga into mental health care
  • Best practices for teaching via telehealth (including tech setup and chair yoga)
  • Adapting yoga for hesitant clients (practical ways to make yoga feel approachable)
  • Real-world application (we don’t just tell you what to do—we show you how to do it)

Do I need prior yoga experience to take this training?

Nope! You don’t need to be a yoga expert (or even super flexible) to take this training. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or have practiced for years, we guide you step-by-step through everything you need to know.

I want to teach private yoga, not group classes. Is this the right training for me?

Absolutely! Most yoga teacher trainings focus on group fitness, leaving you to figure out how to work with individual clients on your own. Not this one. We specialize in private yoga instruction—teaching you how to work one-on-one with clients in a way that’s therapeutic, customized, and trauma-informed. You’ll finish the program fully prepared to offer high-value private sessions, whether you’re working in a clinical setting, through telehealth, or in a private home practice.

Can I use this certification to teach group yoga classes?

Technically, yes—but that’s not what we focus on. This training is designed to prepare you for private, one-on-one client sessions and targeted small group classes, rather than leading general group yoga classes in a gym or studio.

I’m a talk therapist. How will this training help me in my mental health practice?

We know therapists are busy. That’s why this training is completely online and self-paced, so you can fit it into your schedule. More importantly, it’s designed with your work in mind. You’ll learn how to use breathwork, movement, and meditation to help clients with nervous system regulation, stress, and trauma responses—without stepping outside your professional scope. We also include telehealth-specific guidance, including how to set up your camera, which techniques work best for virtual sessions, and how to introduce yoga to clients in a way that feels safe and accessible.

Why is it important to learn how to teach private yoga?

Learning how to teach private yoga and implement a trauma-informed approach will give you a specialized and in-demand skillset that sets you apart as a yoga teacher. The skills you learn in private yoga instruction will enhance your ability to understand and address the individual needs of your students.

Can I take this course if I have already completed a different 200 Hour Yoga Training course?

Yes, you can absolutely take this course even if you’ve already completed a different 200-hour yoga teacher training. We offer a unique and valuable perspective that sets us apart from most standard 200-hour programs. While many 200-hour trainings focus primarily on teaching group yoga classes, our program places a strong emphasis on two crucial areas: private yoga instruction and a trauma-informed approach.

Our program provides in-depth training on how to effectively teach therapeutic private yoga sessions, including tailoring practices to individual needs, addressing specific concerns, and building strong client relationships—a skill often overlooked in general trainings.

We incorporate a deep understanding of trauma-informed principles, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to create safe and inclusive spaces for all students, especially those who may have experienced trauma. This is a critical and increasingly important aspect of yoga teaching not always covered in standard trainings.

If you’re looking to deepen your understanding of yoga and gain specialized skills in private yoga and a trauma-informed approach, our 200 hour yoga teacher training is a perfect fit, regardless of your previous experience.

I’m already teaching group yoga. Can I take this course?

If you’re already teaching group yoga, this training provides a valuable opportunity to expand your yoga teaching repertoire and offer a wider range of services to your students.

Can I use this training for continuing education (CEs) for my mental health license?

We currently offer CEUs for our EMDR Integration Module, which includes our online webinar series: Integrating Yoga Therapy Techniques in EMDR. This two-part series on somatics, breathwork, and meditation is approved for 6 CE hours through EMDRIA and APA.

We are also working on CEU approval for our 200-hour yoga teacher training so you can fulfill your annual requirements as you progress. Approval is expected by January 2026—check back for updates!

How long does it take to complete the training?

This program is 100% self-paced, so you can take as little as 5 months or as long as 5 years—whatever works for your life. The only requirement is that you attend at least five live mentorship calls for practicum guidance and a live online long weekend retreat before you complete the program.

How much does the training cost?

Here is our tuition and fee schedule:

$2,000 tuition, plus cost of 5 private yoga sessions, completed either with Yoga Therapy Associates or with a private yoga teacher of your own choice
$200 final exam fee, payable at time of exam

What course materials are included in the program tuition?

The program tuition includes a comprehensive, downloadable handbook that will serve as your primary resource throughout the training. You will also be required to purchase a few supplementary books separately. A list of these required texts will be provided upon enrollment. They are widely available for purchase.

Do you offer a payment plan?

We do not currently offer a payment plan. Tuition is required in full upon enrollment.

How long do I have access to the course after enrolling?
